MINNEAPOLIS,
MN, July 21, 2000 Chart CO2 DryWash(TM)
Cleaning Technologies will hold the West Coast premier
of the Chart CO2OL Clean [55](TM) Dry Cleaning Machine.
The environmentally friendly cleaning process, utilizing
Liquid Carbon Dioxide will be demonstrated at a reception
on Thursday, August 24, 2000 at 5:00 p.m. at Betty
Brite Cleaners, 3901 E. Broadway, Long Beach, CA.
Hourly tours of the process will also be held at Betty
Brite Cleaners throughout the California Cleaners
Association Fabricare 2000 Show.
This
liquid CO2 technology is now being used by Chart Industries
for the first time in the US in the demanding environment
of an independent dry-cleaning plant. No hazardous
waste is produced from the cleaning process. Unlike
other traditional dry cleaning methods, liquid CO2
and all detergents are environmentally friendly leaving
no hazardous materials to manage and dispose of. The
process and solvent is not subject to any environmental
regulations or liability potential from soil or groundwater
contamination.
The
process is very simple to use and learn. Like a conventional
process, this one uses a cleaning chamber, circulation
loop, filtration, lint trap, distillation, and storage.
The difference is that the equipment and chemistry
is specially developed to house and interact with
carbon dioxide. The gentle, cool nature of cleaning
eliminates heat setting stains, minimizes risk of
garment damage and increases garment life. The total
cleaning cycle runs 35 minutes, dry to dry, for a
true 55 pound, dry load.
